About_The_Game
Neon Orbit is a minimalist browser-based reflex game built around a single mechanic: synchronised orbital tapping. No downloads, no installs, no accounts required.
Inspired by classic precision tap games including Don't Tap and The Impossible Game, it is designed for those who enjoy testing their reflexes against a steady beat.
Daily, weekly, and all-time leaderboards give new players and veterans a fair shot at the top every day. Your best run is submitted automatically at the end of each game.
Tips_&_Tricks
Prioritise reaction speed over accuracy
A Perfect hit requires a reaction under 500ms and scores 5x more than a standard hit. Train yourself to tap the moment the arc appears, not when the node reaches the centre of it.
Target the multiplier thresholds
Score multipliers kick in at every 10 hits. Your first major goal is reaching hit 10 — that's where the scoring gap between players opens up. Don't panic at high speed, survive to the threshold.
Watch the target, not the node
Most players track the moving node. The better instinct is to fix your gaze on the target arc and anticipate the node arriving — this gives you a faster reaction window.
The arc shrinks — adjust your window
With every successful hit, the target arc gets narrower. At high hit counts the margin for error is tiny. If you're dying at the same point repeatedly, you're tapping a fraction too late — shift earlier.
FAQ
Is Neon Orbit free to play? +
Yes, completely free. No account, no download, no payment. Open the site and play instantly in any modern browser on mobile or desktop.
How is cheating prevented? +
Every tap is timestamped at high resolution and submitted with your score. Our anti-cheat system analyses reaction time patterns — inhuman consistency or impossible reaction speeds are flagged and removed from the leaderboard automatically.
Do I need an account to appear on the leaderboard? +
No account needed. You pick a pilot ID before each game — that name is what appears on the global leaderboard. Scores are linked to your device, so your personal best persists between sessions.
What data does Neon Orbit collect? +
Only your pilot name, score, and tap timing data for anti-cheat purposes. A device ID is stored locally to track your personal best. No email, no personal information, no tracking beyond what's needed for the game to work. See the Privacy Protocol for full details.
How does scoring work? +
A standard hit scores 1 point. A Perfect hit (reaction under 500ms) scores 5 points. Every 10 consecutive hits earns a multiplier — at 10 hits you score 2x, at 20 hits 3x, and so on. The combination of Perfects and multipliers is where high scores are made.
Why are there ads? +
Ads keep the game free and cover server costs. We've deliberately kept them off the game screen itself — you'll only see an ad after a run ends, not mid-game. You can decline personalised ads via the privacy banner and contextual ads will be shown instead.
